“We have five Harrys and one Albus in our year. I suppose we’re bound to have a Merlin sooner or later.”

Adding a half-stir to his potion, Merlin Emrys gave a noncommittal hum.

“It’s an unusual name for a Muggleborn though.”

“Never knew my dad. Might be a half-blood for all I know,” Merlin said lightly.

“Why are you being so talkative?” He turned to his Potions partner. “I thought Slytherins keep to themselves.”

“Ravenclaws aren’t so bad,” Scorpius Malfoy said dismissively.

Blue-grey eyes regarded him with curiosity. “There’s something about you, Merlin. I can’t put my finger on it.”
