Fill out the poll here.

Thank you [personal profile] rea_saint for building the poll (You didn't have to build a poll engine, but thanks). And thanks [personal profile] copperbadge for linking.

The poll will remain open until September 9, 2011. After the poll is closed [personal profile] rea_saint will draw a graph/whatever form would be most useful, results viewing-wise.

You don't have to answer all the questions. You do have to tick at least one box to view the poll results. If you want to change your answer, simply retake the poll. The poll stores all your answer sets but only counts your last answer set in the results.

Since this poll logs your IP address, your roommate/spouse/BF/GF/sibling/child/parent have to take the poll from somewhere with a different IP address, sorry! (I feel that IP logging is less restrictive than Open ID, so...)

Please link to the poll (or this post, if you prefer); I'm genuinely curious what people's answers are.

Non-Americans: feel free to answer the poll, but it's probably not as relevant elsewhere. It probably comes across as the unending American struggle to be as politically correct as possible.

I didn't include other ethnic minority stereotypes because I'm unfamiliar with them (It seems pretentious to write a hypothetical situation which I've never encountered). The poll questions largely revolves around male-female relations, because again I'm unfamiliar with non-heterosexual ethnic stereotypes (beyond Nifty's Interracial subfolder. Not the most reliable source.)

As I understand it, here are the male-female stereotypes for African Americans and Asian Americans:
African American males: so generously endowed sexy they cause Caucasian females to cheat on their boyfriends/husbands.
Asian American males: so emasculated that all Asian American females flock to Caucasian males instead.

African American females: seduce Caucasian males with their wily ways. Seen as "easy."
Asian American females: are either submissive/obedient or have unplumbed kinky depths (wax play, mostly).

I'm not the most friendly person in meatspace rl; I'd go so far as saying I give out a "Don't bother me" vibes. I do have an obvious accent. I figure it must be my Asian-ness that causes random Caucasian males to hit on me while I was just minding my own business (contemplating which organic fruit to buy, for example).

Anyway, feel free to leave comments and have discussions either at LJ or DW. Anonymous comments are screened because I have a hate-on for spambots. I'll unscreen non-spam anonymous comments within 24 hours. Wank-y comments and personal attacks will be screened and/or deleted.

If anyone does feel like personally attacking me, accusing me of racism won't hurt as much as saying "U R st00pid."

Ta.

When you say "American", do you mean "US"?

Yes. Sry, there isn't an easy way to clarify that ("U.S.an"? Sounds awkward)

If it's Canada, for example, it'd be Asian Canadian, no? I don't think Canadians are as race-conscious/focused as Americans though.

I wouldn't be able to accurately compare, I only rarely travel in the U.S.

I usually go with "folks from the US" myself, but I know that's long and awkward and doesn't necessarily convey what you want anyway.
