Because keeping a journal without a policy is like kissing without a saran wrap,

(that is, deadly in highly specialized circumstances)

The following is my DW posting & encircling policy (edited on April 26, 2012):

On X-posting:
✔ My newer fics and drabbles (except for Harry Potter) will be posted here and on AO3. My Harry Potter content will continue to be posted at [livejournal.com profile] lilian_cho and/or [insanejournal.com profile] lilian_cho.

✘ Most fandom content won't be locked. Most rl content will be locked.

✔ Ideally, I x-post to DW (& IJ, automatically) and LJ within 24 hours. Sometimes, if a post is silly and/or not time-sensitive, x-posting doesn't happen until days (or weeks) later. Or ever. From time to time I consolidate two LJ posts into one DW/IJ post.

✘ I won't make any DW-only posts unless it's tied in to a DW community.

✔ This DW is more user-friendly to lurkers and stalkers subscribers. E.g. my DW fic & rec tags are more anal specific (and hopefully helpful) than my LJ/IJ tags.

✔ Comments = <3
✘ No, I'm not turning off the comment option to consolidate all the comments in one journal.

✔ I will flag my (v. v. few) adult concept fics and posts.

On encircling/subscribing/giving access:
✔ If I subscribe to you but don't grant you access, you're probably a BNF =P

✔ If you want me to grant you access, just subscribe to my DW and comment here introducing yourself! Please have at least one post on your DW.

✘ I won't subscribe to empty journals. If you post at least 50% in English, and you update at least every 3 months, it’s all good =)

✔ If you unsubscribe from my DW, I will revoke your access. Because if you're uninterested in reading my posts, you probably won't notice anyway.

That should take care of everything for now! =)

If you think this is long, you should see my LJ Guide to Friending/Stalking/Lurking @ [livejournal.com profile] lilian_cho =P

HALLO THAR, new (and old-ish) friends!
I have some of your journals triple-friended/encircled or smth. It's practically braiding friendship bracelets X-D

I deeply covet multilevel tags, and I most likely will shell out the $25 to be able to implement that feature.
Not that you shouldn't shell out $25, but multi-level tags are accessible to free accounts on DW, as long as you use a native style. :)

Thank you! =DDD I knew I should've asked you first! X-D

*cries tears of joy* <--Okay, I lied, it wasn't as melodramatic.

Well, I would shell out $25 while it still costs $25. Without my Merlin animated moodtheme, I feel naked ^^;;

*goes to fiddle with tags*

Since I have you here, Internet-ly speaking, is there a way for me to view my own journal posts on my reading page?

Thanks!

Yep. Subscribe to yourself :) (And while you're at it, grant yourself access, too, or you won't see your locked posts.)
