The two Michael Fassbender movies outside X-M:FC that I'm actually willing to watch:

1. Jane Eyre. First of all, why did they start the movie from the middle? I watched the movie 1.5 times and I still don't get it.

Second, I was rooting for St. John until he proposed, in which he amply demonstrated that he DOESN'T GET JANE AT ALL. =( I'm making disappointed faces at you, Jamie Bell St. John! Ergo, Jane ran back to be with the lesser of two evils creepyRochester instead =P

Michael Fasbbender's Rochester is, as expected, v. creeper (Perhaps to Twilight's creeperEdward levels? Why the same first name WAHHHhhh). What delightfully surprised me though, is he plays creeperRochester with humor. He MOCKS JANE GENTLY AND NOT-SO-GENTLY but it's all in good fun. Plus, Jane Eyre has wits and claws. Rawr.

Lastly, I approve of the ending shot (the two of us against the world! Willful blindness, metaphorical and otherwise!) and the exclusion of the book's epilogue, which is the epitome of foreboding creepy in a book already filled with creepy. I mean it all in the most romantic sense, of course.

2. A Bear Named Winnie

All the Michael Fassbender & bear/horse/animal moments are sweet, but he inevitably looks like a shark in some shots. What has been seen cannot be unseen.

It's an adequately sweet TV family movie, with bonus Stephen Fry, but IMO you can just enjoy this X-M:FC fic instead:

"Oh, um..." She reflexively clutched the armful, eyes widening at the riot of colours. Her bouquet seemed so shoddy compared to this masterpiece. The vivid sunflowers, interspersed with wildflowers, were beautiful, but they were her favourite, not Morgana's—

"Congratulations on getting into nursing school."

"Oh. Oh! You made this for me?" She looked up, saw Lancelot's fond expression, and flushed.

"You're the best worker I've ever had," Lancelot said warmly. "I hope I'll still see you after you're off to uni."

She gazed back at him and smiled slowly. "I'd like that."

1. Suits. I haven't watched the show but I did read the fic that copperbadge recced and the other one written by the same author where Mike is a natural sub and Harvey is the dommiest dom that doms. X-D (Where had the cover art disappeared to though? Boo.)

2. Why I sometimes avoid watching TV shows even though I read the fanfic: Neal Caffrey is prettier than I could've expected, but Harvey Specter is not as hot as I pictured him to be. Boo.
2 a. Actually, the Wikipedia picture makes me think of Sexy!GrownUp!Privileged!Pureblood!Neville and...Peter Parker. Neville and Spiderman. Together, they fight crime! Weird, I tell you.

3. Sexy!GrownUp!Privileged!Pureblood!Neville is a fun fic premise though. Neville is raised by purebloods who're almost as snobby as the Malfoys! Except they're classier about it! (And did not support the Dark Lord, at least not publicly)

4. I have a Lancelot/Gwen, Morgana/Gwen-ish drabble idea that I haven't fleshed out/written down.

5. I wonder if there are any good Hook/Peter Pan (1993 movie with Jason Isaacs) or Caspian/Edmund fic out there that I haven't read yet...

I usually try to save my babbling for LJ, because I don't think all Internet and sundry need/want to see it. But DDoS attack, blah blah blah, so here goes:

1. I've been relying heavily on picowrimo for my cheerleader/support system as I post 100~ word snippets of my current original WIP, "The Proper-False"* [ 1 | 2 | 3 ]. LJ being down --> no support sytem for me** ._.

2. For whatever reason, I prefer to write directly in LJ "post entry" box instead of MS Word. So that was another teensy annoying hindrance to my writing.

3. In (as-yet-unposted) part four, 1270 words are spent entirely in the kitchen *facepalm*
And it's not because they're creatively misusing whipped cream/butter/olive oil/whathaveyou. They're just having CONVERSATION after CONVERSATION. And there's only one innuendo*** in the whole thing.

4 a. ...It feels like this fic exists solely for N and A to banter with each other. Which is true to a certain extent. But still.
4 b. I want to fastforward to plot points**** but the characters want to chat some more (!!!)

5. Not gonna project/estimate how long this fic is going to be, because I foresee tears of frustration =_=

1. Yoo Ha Jin's Totally Captivated -- the first BL manhwa that I actually like. I'm meh about the art because manhwa art = manhwa art and manga art = manga art, but I LOVE the storyline and the shamelessness of Ewon Jung >=D

2 b. I finally watched Antique, the Korean movie adaptation of Antique Bakery. If viewed as a movie it's kinda spastic, but think of it as a two-hour fanvid of Antique Bakery and you will LOVE IT. You can't ask for Moar Ghei. For srs.

The actors' feel & heights = perfect for their parts. My only complaint would be Eiji not being obnoxious-yet-endearing enough. They don't look tall in the movie because three of them are ridiculously tall (models-turned-actors), but when they stand up next to an average Korean guy they are TALL.

3. This Sex Pistols AMV: Years of Lies (WARNING: bare chests, non-sexual hair-pulling, will cause viewer to obsessively check for OVA 2's arrival)

3a. Why do I always prefer the side pairing in Boys' Love?

4. I vastly prefer the manga + drama CD combo over plain Boys' Love anime.
It feels less cheesy and less embarassing. Anime portrayal of penetration is...idk. It has improved a lot over the years but it's still not there for me. Junjou Romantica anime = ♥ because less is more =P

Since that's not happening, take away your useless, intrusive, expensive, radiation machine. I know Asians usually don't get skin cancer, but I still don't want an unlicensed operator bombarding concentrated radiation on my skin, kthxbai.

The other "option" is no less sleazy and demeaning. You say "enhanced pat-down"; I say sexual assault. Add the fact that children under 12 are not exempt from either option, I call child pornography and molestation.

Preschoolers know you don't hug/touch a friend who doesn't want to be hugged/touched. Why is genitalia groping suddenly okay when done by a government agent?

TSA workers can and do fondle and squeeze breasts, vagina, cock and balls because they want to bully, humiliate and terrorize travelers into going for the Dick Measuring Device Insta-Pr0n X-ray instead. Think about the added humiliation and pain for transgender people, people with prosthetics, breast cancer survivors and those who were sexually assaulted in the past.

After 9/11,the government has been chipping away at our freedom and basic rights more and more. Instead of adopting security measures that have been proven effective elsewhere (Israel, anyone?), we have machines that are ineffectual in detecting anything implanted under the skin or inserted in a body cavity.

At this rate, next travelers would be advised to bring single-sachet lubes and bend over for a cavity search.

As you can see from the tags above, the remix that I wrote is extremely different from the original. This was actually a lot darker in my head, so much so that I felt the "Dark" AO3 tag is undeserved. The darkness happened between the lines, mostly. Considering that I've never written dark fic* before, I'm not displeased with the final result. I'm thankful that camelotremix gave me the opportunity to write outside my usual set of genres.

To people who love the original fic, I hope this remix didn't give you whiplash (Xtreme RemiX: 180-degree genre shift).
If this had been a regular assignment** instead of a pinch-hit, this remix plotbunny would have bitten me nonetheless. The only difference it would make is I'd have had more time to research children psychology, mental health, beliefs in reincarnation, British turns of phrases, etc. And catch those errand commas and tense changes.

His beauty...oh gods, it was so unfair. The children were singing in the streets about a beast, but he was beautiful enough to eclipse the sun. How could a creature who walked like a man and spoke like a man and had the head and fur-covered body of a beast achieve beauty, whereas I, who was supposedly a man, could only wallow in my own beastliness? I glared at my mud spot again and tried not to let my throat grow thick with a boy's aching disappointment.

3 a. I immediately followed that up with The Phoenix.

Don't read two Ruth Sims in a row. I should've taken a few days' breather in between. (Fanfic angst is more bearable than origific angst, because I can immediately self-medicate with happy happy fluff funny fanfic.)

Counterpoint is more w00bie, The Phoenix is more hurt/comfort, but light on the comfort part.

My drabbles have more plot than my ficlets. This is because three of those ficlets were originally written for summerpornathon. If you're a plot-driven writer, you're better off looking into my drabbles.

Don't feel constrained by my interpretation of canon, and don't worry about incorporating new canon/interview/trailer spoilers, etc. (Because I'm still putting off watching 2 X 08, 2 X 11 - 2 X 13. Yeah.) I'll get there eventually, and I don't mind being spoiled by fic!

Feel free to canon-ize my AU fics. But please don't AU-ize the few non-AU fics that I did write ^^;;

I love slash and gen, and also read the occasional het and femmeslash. As long as it's not a surprise (!!!) pairing like Uther/Arthur or Merlin/Gaius, pretty much anything goes.

If you want to make a slashfic gen or a genfic slash*, go ahead. I don't mind Arthur/Gwen, although I do prefer Lancelot/Gwen (and Merlin/Morgana) for my hetship. I also like Arthur/Merlin/Other.

* I once read a 20K Arthur/Gwen and thought I was reading Arthur/Merlin until more than halfway into it. That's how permanent my slash goggles are.
